What armor should I wear for farming? There's an armor that gives good melee protection, but less energy... I'm wearing the tatoo armor.... Gives great energy but no protection. What do your monks wear?

depends on what items you will use...if you have + energy offhander and weapon...use the melee protection. If not,other way. Also see how much energy you need to get the farming done...if you dont need the extra energy...dont get it.

ive never seen monk armor with extra melee defense, only elemental protection.

"+15AL vs physical damage" is melee defense, among other things.

I wear the Ascetic tattoos for the energy bonus, and then equip armor boosting items, like defensive heads/wrappings and shields, if they are needed. With all five Ascetic pieces and a +12 energy icon, one's total energy will equal 50. With certain protection prayers, the armor class isn't as important as the energy to cast the spells in the first place, and many of the smiting prayers are quite expensive. Many of the enchantment spells take away energy regen, so having a larger pool to start with helps.
